Give Nonviolence a Chance: The Journey of Neelakanta Radhakrishnan

CGNK’s Chair Dr. Anoop Swarup formally launched his new edited book Give Nonviolence a Chance: The Journey of Neelakanta Radhakrishnan at a function held at the India International Centre in New Delhi on August 19. The book seeks to showcase the initiatives and nonviolent campaigns of the peace activist, author, educator and philosopher, Neelakanta Radhakrishnan who devoted his entire life to the cause of nonviolence and nonkilling and in reinterpreting and restructuring Gandhi’s Peace Army, the Shanti Sena. Dr. N. Radhakrishnan is also an Honorary Sponsor of the Center for Global Nonkilling.2016_give_nonviolence_a_chance_book

The event gathered over 200 participants, including former Prime Minister and distinguished economist Manmohan Singh  and guests such as Dr. Karan Singh, Dr. Narendra Jadhav and several current MPs and leaders. Both Dr. Radhakrishnan and Dr. Swarup emphasized the importance of the nonkilling paradigm for the application of Gandhian principles to the current threats of violence and war.

The book, with 349 pages, is available from Konark Publishers. Discussions on a second book project under the title Give Nonkilling a Chance are underway.
