Nonkilling Youth Camp held in Trivandrum City, India
The Citizens Initiative for a Nonkiling India (CIFNKI) organized its first Youth Camp as part of the “Toward a violence-free Trivandrum City Campaign”. One hundred volunteer from the Mulavana HSS participated in the initiative, celebrated on July 26 at the Rangaprabhat Children’s Complex, Venjaramoodu under the direction of Dr. C. Prathep. Prominent resource persons included Prof. N. Radhakrishnan, Adv. V.S. Hareendranath, Prof. S. Varghese, Prof. V. Ramdas, Sri Shamsudeen, Prof. Sajiv Mohan and Kattayikonam Sasidharan. New youth camps will aso be promoted in the following months.
The Citizens Initiative for a Nonkiling India was launched on June 28th, together with a month-long program that included, seminars, discussions, peace festivals, youth assemblies, film screenings, book presentations and elocution competitions. CGNK Honorary Sponsor Professor Neelakanta Radhakrishnan is responsible for this historical initiative to promote the concept and practice of nonkilling across India.
