Nonkilling Leadership Academy Video on YouTube
The Center for Global Nonkilling has released a short six-minute video introduction of its First Global Nonkilling Leadership Academy, convened in Honolulu, Hawai’i from October 4 to 16, 2009. The Academy was organized by CGNK to provide a select group of promising young leaders with a life changing experience related to the real and much needed possibilities of a world where killing is no longer taken for granted.
This pilot edition consisted of a two week program comprising 12 participants from Liberia, Western Sahara, Italy, Lebanon, Palestine, Germany, Kenya, Thailand, Philippines, India, the United States and Hawai’i itself. Participants were nominated by past Nobel Peace Laureates, as well as drawn from organizations and networks partnering with the Center for Global Nonkilling.
The video was produced by CGNK with the independent Galizan studio Videafilm and will be followed by a longer 40 minute film on this extraordinary event. The short video features, among other interventions, Colombian musician Juanes (promoter of the “Peace Without Borders” concerts), who talked and sang to the Academy participants.
