CGNK signs MoU with Association of Universities of Asia and the Pacific
The MoU is a landmark agreement for setting up of a Nonkilling Universities Forum that will promote the development of certificate and diploma courses focused on nonkilling in the Asia Pacific region. Areas of cooperation identified in the MoU also include the organization of conferences, seminars and colloquia, joint monitoring programs and academic and educational publications.
AUAP was founded and established by representatives of universities in the Asia and Pacific region assembled in conference at Suranaree University of Technology, Nakhorn Ratchasima, Thailand, on 28 July 1995, to serve as the main platform for interaction and collaboration among members and the voice of universities in Asia and the Pacific: (a) to promote a culture of quality and innovation in higher education, research and service to the community; (b) to preserve and enhance the values and cultural diversity of Asia Pacific towards better understanding and cooperation for socioeconomic development and (universal) peace; and (c) to engage with stakeholders of the higher education and other organizations to further the objectives of AUAP.
