Bellavista went from several killings per week to zero killings in a five years period after training of inmates was conduced in 2000.
Since 1982, the International Institute for Peace Educational annual meetings have been a pedagogical structure for global peace learning by bringing participants together from around the world to address some of the most pressing problems of global society as a community of inquiry, interpretation and learning. This year the meeting was convened on the topic “Learning to read the world from multiple perspective: peace education toward diversity and inclusion”, with 62 participants from 15 countries.
