Distinguished Peace Leadership Award Speech Video
The Nuclear Age Peace Foundation has just released a video of the 27th Annual Evening for Peace including a speech by Prof. Glenn D. Paige where the concept of Nonkilling and the origin of the Center for Global Nonkilling are introduced. The video was produced by the University of California TV following the Distinguished Peace Leadership Award ceremony which gathered over 250 people in Santa Barbara, CA, on October 29, also honoring Reverend James Lawson, mentor to Martin Luther King, Jr.
Paige’s keynote speech “The Nonkilling Idea Can Lead,” stresses the importance of seeking a “killing-free world achieved by global diffusion of a strong nonkilling ethic combined with global citizen understanding of ways and means to bring it about.” The speech is preceded by an introductory speech by Professor Richard A. Falk (Princeton University).
