Nonkilling Germany Launched
The Zentrum zur Förderung des Nichttötens – Nonkilling Deutschland (Center for the Advancement of Nonkilling – Nonkilling Germany) has just started its activity, founded by Anis Hamadeh and Sabine Yacoub in Mainz, Germany. The new Center will focus on public actions, research and networking, in close partnership with the Center for Global Nonkilling. Besides producing a German translation of Nonkilling Global Political Science it will commit important efforts to introduce nonkilling in the arts and to bring to public consciousness the nonkilling legacy of Petra Kelly (1947-1992).
Release Party on the Occasion of the German Book Edition
On May 29th, the Center for the Advancement of Nonkilling (ZFNND) organized a release party to present the German book edition Nonkilling: Wissenschaft von der nicht tötenden Gesellschaft. Twenty guests attended the party in the “Diwan” restaurant on the Mainz university campus. Anis Hamadeh explained how the translation came about and the 40 minute documentary film Nonkilling: A Better Way by Rich Panter was shown, with German subtitles (also produced by ZFNND). There was a discussion following the film and the evening ended in a small circle with the guitar.
