CGNK at High Level Meeting on Culture for Peace

CGNK leadership team member Joám Evans Pim participated in the High Level Meeting on a Culture for Peace and the Alliance of Civilizations held in Santiago de Compostela on December 5, as part of the 2010 World Education Forum Organizing Committee. The meeting was chaired by former UNESCO General Secretary-General and CGNK Honorary sponsor Federico Mayor Zaragoza.

The World Education Forum is being held in Santiago de Compostela from December 3 to 30 under the auspices of the United Nations and UNESCO, focusing on peace education, peace research and culture of peace. It will run jointly with the UN’s Alliance of Civilizations High-level Group and the Decade for a Culture of Peace coordinators meetings, providing an opportunity to evaluate the level of achievement of both programs and the Millennium Development Goals.

The World Report on Culture of Peace, prepared by the Foundation for a Culture of Peace, was also presented in the Meeting by its Coordinator David Adams. The report, to which CGNK contributed, is available online.
