Nonkilling celebrated in São Paulo, Brazil
CGNK research committee members in Brazil will hold an inaugural meeting on August 29 at São Paulo’s Latin America Memorial (Memorial da América Latina). The event is organized by São Paulo professors Helena Singer and Murilo Jardelino) and will include guest lecturers from other regions of Brazil. The Brazilian edition of Nonkilling Global Political Science (Não matar é possível. Para uma nova ciência política global) will also be presented.
Among the speakers are Professor Francisco Gomes de Matos, author of the book Nurturing Nonkilling and the chapter on Nonkilling Linguistics in Toward a Nonkilling Paradigm (all available for free download at CGNK’s books page), Professor Ubiratan D’Ambrósio, author of the chapter on Nonkilling Mathematics in Toward a Nonkilling Paradigm and contributor to Engineering Nonkilling: Scientific Responsibility and the Advancement of Killing-Free Societies and Professor Maria José Matos Luna, director of the Federal University of Pernambuco Press, where Não matar é possível: para uma nova ciência política global was published.
The event will take place at the Latin American Library (Biblioteca Latino Americana) of the Memorial at 7:30 PM. Entry is free.
